Hamilton Comic Con celebrates pop culture and more

(News Release)

Hamilton, ON – Julie Newmar, best-known for her role as Catwoman on the original Batman TV series, will be joined by more than 20 pop culture celebrities when Hamilton Comic Con invades the Hamilton Convention Centre on Saturday, October 4th.

“Our fans spoke, and we listened,” said Chris Dabrowski, Promoter for Hamilton Comic Con.  “Our goal is to create a Comic Con that Hamilton can be proud to call their own.  With doubling the event in size and the list of this year’s star-studded line up, I think we’re well on our way,” he added.

Legends of Wrestling Reunion, “an event within an event”, will also be a part of the second annual Hamilton Comic Con, which drew more than 5,000 people to the convention centre last year.  Wrestling Legends confirmed for the reunion are: Trish Stratus, The Honky Tonk Man, Mean Gene Okerlund and George “The Animal” Steele, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Bushwhacker Luke, Tug boat and more.

Hamilton Comic Con will feature more than 100,000 square feet of comic books, artists, exhibitors, a replica of the original Batmobile, a replica of the Original K.I.T.T. car, movie and TV celebrities, Q&A sessions, seminars and more.

Confirmed celebrities to date include:  The Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno; Garrett Wang who played Ensign Harry Kim on Star Trek Voyager; Ken Osmond, who portrayed Eddie Haskell on Leave it to Beaver, Power Rangers Austin St. John, Walter Jones and Steve Cardenas, Verne Troyer, best known as Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies and more.

Featured artists include: Simpsons' artist Phil Ortiz, Leonard Kirk, Marco Rudy to name just a few.

“Comic Con will give fans an opportunity to shake hands, rub shoulders, and get autographs and photos with some of their favourite celebrities and wrestling superstars.  For comic collectors, it will give them an opportunity to find that hard-to-find comic.  All in all, it’s a can’t miss event in the Hamilton area,” added Dabrowski.

Tickets for the event are $25 (includes all taxes and service charges) and are available online at www.hamiltoncomiccon.com or at the door on the day of the event!
