Fanshawe Frolic presents…The “CHANGING TIMES” Ball: Dance from 1900 – 1914

Saturday August 2 & Sunday, August 3

The whole Village is coming to the Ball!
Join us as we host our annual Fanshawe Frolic dance weekend on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.  This year’s special theme is “Changing Times”, focusing on the dances and music from 1900 to 1914…the period immediately after the Victorian era and leading up to World War I.

On Saturday, come to pre-ball lessons to learn the social dances of the turn of the century/ragtime eras with Dance Mistress and Historian, Mme Cathy Stephens. Enjoy a country supper in the evening, followed by the period ball with live music provided by Childgrove of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Period costumes are encouraged but not required.  This year’s theme offers a wide choice of costumes for participants who can dress in any late 19th century/turn of the century costume or in costume from the Titanic or WWI era.

On Sunday, bring the whole family to the Village for the Family Frolic, open to all visitors to the Fanshawe Pioneer Village that day.  The Family Frolic features live music and more easy to learn period dances led by Mme. Stephens, followed by afternoon tea.
