Three additional acts added to May entertainment lineup at Seneca Casinos

NIAGARA FALLS and SALAMANCA, N.Y. – Seneca Casinos announces even more superstar performances this May on top of an already impressive lineup. Joining the schedule is Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band at Seneca Allegany Events Center in Salamanca as well as Spirit of the West and a double-billing of Glass Tiger & Platinum Blonde at the Bear’s Den Showroom in Niagara Falls.

Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Kenny Wayne Shepherd comes to Seneca Allegany Events Center during Memorial Day weekend for a 7 p.m. show billed as Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band on Sunday, May 25. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Mar. 26 at noon and start at $25.

All of Shepherd’s albums have reached No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Blues chart since his 1995 debut, and the 1997 release of “Trouble Is…” holds the record on the chart for the longest-running No. 1 album. He has earned five Grammy Award nominations and received two awards each from the Billboard Music Awards, Blues Music Awards and Orville H. Gibson Awards. In 1997, Guitar World magazine ranked Shepherd No. 3 behind B.B. King and Eric Clapton as popular blues guitarists.

One of Canada’s most beloved Celtic rock bands, Spirit of the West, performs inside the intimate 440-seat Bear’s Den Showroom at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Tickets start at $40 and go on sale Friday, Mar. 28 at noon. The Vancouver-based band has a strong fan base in the Niagara Region that will be primed to sing along and dance to the band’s upbeat hits, such as “And If Venice Is Sinking,” “Home for a Rest” and “Political.”

Also announced for the Bear’s Den Showroom on Sunday, May 18 at 7 p.m. is Glass Tiger & Platinum Blonde – a double-billing with two great Canadian rock bands. Tickets start at just $20 and go on sale Friday, Mar. 28 at noon. Both groups achieved peak success in the mid-1980s, with the five-time Juno Award–winning Glass Tiger scoring a No. 1 hit in Canada and No. 2 hit in the U.S. with “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone),” and the two-time Juno Award–nominated band Platinum Blonde reaching No. 1 on the Canadian charts with “Crying Over You.”

These new additions to the entertainment lineup precede a blockbuster Summer Rush 2014 series of shows in Niagara Falls and Salamanca. Officials with Seneca Gaming Corporation will announce the lineup for Summer Rush 2014 on Wednesday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at STIR – the new high-energy bar and lounge in the southwest corner at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel’s newly renovated main gaming floor. The luxurious setting includes a massive 40- by 20-foot high definition video wall, and officials will unveil each #SummerRush concert on screen. Media and the public are invited and encouraged to attend.
