Celebrate New Year's Eve at Seneca Niagara Casino

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND MIDNIGHT BUFFET

New 18+ gaming space, The Mezz, also provides fun for young adults

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Ring in the New Year with a party like no other at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls USA.

There is something for everyone, including an affordable midnight buffet with exquisite dining at the reinvented Thunder Falls Buffet, live entertainment, and non-stop fun on a newly-redesigned gaming floor that will “wow” thousands of fellow partiers.

Young adults aged 18 to 20 can also experience the thrill of gaming at The Mezz, an 18+ nonalcoholic gaming area on the mezzanine balcony of the gaming floor. Finally, the excitement leading to 2014 also builds in dramatic fashion at Seneca Niagara, as a packed schedule of live entertainment will fill the casino during New Year’s Eve weekend.

The Thunder Falls Buffet, which unveiled a completely reinvented space and food items one year ago, will not only be open throughout the day as usual, but also will offer a first-ever Midnight Buffet for the very affordable price of $14.99 (with a free Seneca Player’s Club card; otherwise just $2 more).

The buffet includes more than 100 food items – including everything from international cuisine to Buffalo favorites – and will stay open until 3 a.m. The 500-seat restaurant includes a variety of seating and six unique food stations, all with interaction with experienced culinary team members that can deliver cooked-to-order dishes. For those wanting five-star quality foods and enough variety to please to pickiest of palates, the Thunder Falls Buffet will provide a satisfying and memorable first meal of 2014.

Music lovers are in for a treat on New Year’s Eve at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, starting with free live entertainment from local rock bands at Club 101, located in the center of the gaming floor.

PassionWorks takes the stage at 3 p.m., followed by The Thurman Brothers at 7 p.m. and SKY at 11 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. The nearby 440-seat Bear’s Den Showroom with its flawless acoustics and comfortable seating plays host to Paul Revere and the Raiders for two shows at 7 and 10 p.m. The 1960s garage rock band will provide a festive sound with hits like “Kicks,” “Hungry” and “Good Thing.” Tickets start at $55 and are on sale now.

Those who haven’t been to Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in the past few months will be dazzled by the sight of an entirely new gaming floor. The final portions of the $26 million renovation project will be completed later this winter, but more than half of the two-acre area is already fully transformed with a new Keno Bar, Player’s Club, new table game canopies, and slot bases and luxurious chairs with full backrests.

Curved and wider pathways, as well as dramatic carpeting round out an all-new layout that is designed to provide a bright, vibrant and spacious atmosphere. Players are already providing rave reviews, particularly noting the “Vegas-like” feel of the overall transformation. In addition, by New Year’s Eve, a new $6 million air quality system will be fully operational – providing much improved breathing and controls for optimal temperature and humidity.

Beginning December 26, the mezzanine balcony area of the main gaming floor will become The Mezz, a nonalcoholic gaming area that permits gaming for young adults ages 18 and up. The location includes more than 440 of the latest slot machines and promises to be a hot new gathering spot in downtown Niagara Falls.

Leading into the New Year’s Eve holiday will be a packed weekend of entertainment at the casino. On Friday, Dec. 27, Kim Mitchell performs a sold-out show at the Bear’s Den Showroom. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the Canadian hard rock band Max Webster before embarking on a solo career. Regulars to Seneca Niagara from Southern Ontario and Western New York might also recognize him as a radio host for Q107 (107.1 FM) in Toronto.

The following evening on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m., the multitalented Vanessa Williams comes to Seneca Niagara Events Center for the first-time ever. Great seats are still available and start at $60. After becoming Miss America in 1983, Williams rose to the top of the Billboard charts with hits like “Save the Best for Last,” “Dreamin’” and “Colors of the Wind” for the Disney movie “Pocahontas.” She has performed in multiple Broadway plays and earned a Tony Award nomination for “Into the Woods” in 2002. While she continues to enjoy a musical career, Williams is most recently known for television roles on “Ugly Betty” – for which she received an Emmy Award nomination in three consecutive years – and “Desperate Housewives.” She also has starred in movies, acted as a spokesperson for a variety of personal-care products and recently co-wrote a memoir with her mother.

And finally, on Sunday, Dec. 29, singer-songwriter and social activist Judy Collins will celebrate more than 50 years of music with a 7 p.m. show inside the Bear’s Den Showroom. Limited seats remain and start at $45. Collins’ rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides, Now” won a Grammy Award in 1968 for Best Folk Recording and her performance of Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns” was named “Song of the Year” at the 1976 Grammy Awards. Collins is a representative for UNICEF and campaigns against the use of landmines.

Tickets for all shows are available at Seneca Casino box offices, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations or by phone at 800-745-3000.
